What is the best paper to use for stencil?

I'm a beginner in printing t-shirts but i have printed my first t-shirt and came out pretty well. The way i done it was i got a piece of normal a4 paper and created a stencil with it and printed it on using silk screen technique but the paper became too soggy and i couldn't use it again without having to peel the stencil off. I used thicker paper but had the same result so I Just wanted to know what is the best thing to use for stencil that doesn't stick or get too soggy
