Do we really need a second elected chamber, and more importantly why burden the taxpayer will more expenses?
Bicameral chambers seem to be a feature of democracy. Happy father's day, my chosen poison is barley based. Perhaps, as you have indicated, the lack of interest and cost cause people to question their relevance. Not too worried about cornflakes but would really like to know the tensile strength of various biscuits when dunked in hot tea. Maybe we could get value for money if we gave and deducted peerages based on a television format where we stripped them of their ermine based on telephone voting at premium rates.
